Rice Players Sign on the Dotted Line

Crow, Rodriguez, Degerman, Buchanan Sign

The Rice Owls had four significant pieces of the puzzle for 2006 sign contracts with the teams that drafted them.

Craig Crow, an 11th round draft choice by the Rangers, signed with the Rangers. He has been assigned to the Class A Spokane Indians. (Note: If I remember correctly, Spokane’s field has a left field wall—a rather tall one—at 251 feet. That will present Craig with a rather interesting challenge.)

Eddie Degerman, drafted by the Cardinals, signed a contract with them as well. Degerman has been assigned to the State College Spikes (Class A).

Josh Rodriguez signed a contract with the Cleveland Indians organization as well. He will be assigned to a team soon.

Greg Buchanan, drafted by the Astros, has signed a contract and has already been moved to an outfield position with the Class A Tri-City Valley Cats.
